An Illegitimate President? Or an Escape from Reality?
As the Tea Party has grown, strengthened, and become more mainstream, the conversation has seen it’s fair share of hiccups. Although the original Tea Parties held across the USA were in protest to an over-the-top, pork filled piece of legislation passed in early 2009 (AKA: The $787 billion dollar American Reinvestment and Recovery Act), the message quickly began to stray.
Questions began to arise regarding President Barack Obama’s place of birth. Could this man in the White House, who promised everybody everything, possibly be an illegitimate president? Could this be a way to stop the impending econimic crisis our country may face if this president was what we all feared – a spendaholic on steroids with control of The Fed? This new message flooded email boxes, twitter, facebook, blogs. Conversations stirred. And many quickly forgot the reason we all originally became street corner protesters in the first place - because our country is in crisis.
While we are trying to raise dynamic, well-adjusted children in a world full of mind-numbing temptation and daily indoctrination, their personal monetary debt is over $42,000.oo. We have a deficit of $1.4 trillion dollars, our national debt is well above $13 trillion, with unfunded liabilities of over $100 trillion. Our country is in a near decade long war that has no end in sight and is funded by dollars we do not have. The illegal immigration burden is crippling our already over-spent economy. There are nearly 14 million people unemployed. And our own government has now embraced corporatism to a frightening degree.
And people are worried about the birth certificate? So we can kick Barack Obama out, just to make Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi the dictators of our beloved country? Not me. I’ll just vote him out in 2012.
Today audio of candidate for United States Senate Ken Buck surfaced. In a frustrated state, he became mortal. He sounded off about those “pesky” Tea Partiers and their persistent birth certificate questions. How dare he want to stay on message. To talk about the economy, the Constitution, jobs, energy, debt, education, any of the serious issues that face our families every morning.
Me personally? What I want to hear from any candidate is solutions. And not only does Ken Buck offer solutions, he stands by his word.
Let’s all stay on message, just as Ken Buck has done.

Only a couple of weeks late on this but GREAT message. I get so frustrated with both friends and associates who cannot seem to recognize that some things are important and some are less so, even trivial. If you complain about everything, you will be heard by no one. If your car alarm goes off every few days, who will take note when it is actually broken into in the middle of the night. Determine what is important and fight hard to fix the problem. Do not be distracted by non-critical issues.
Of course it’s apparent the presidential candidates from both parties would have gone along with the bailouts. Bush #2 was already bailing out the banks when he was leaving office. Evidenced by this: hhttp://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/24/bush.bailout/index.html#cnnSTCVideo
Our presidents are beholden first to the banking interests which includes the Federal Reserve Bank. An organization that must be known for what it is, and why they’ve ruined our dollar through irresponsible fiscal policy.
When it becomes clear that neither party nor politicians will obey the oaths they swore to the constitution and the people they represent, it becomes the responsibility of We the People to kick them out. We are where we are today because many people believe it’s better to go with the flow, accept politics as dirty, or “what can we really do”. Fortunately, I see more and more coming to a more appropriate answer, which is to become active in politics and restore the constitution. The Tea Parties are viable, and are making great progress.
